Our Trails

Welcome to 40+ miles of trails with stunning views, clear mountain summits, mature unchartered forests, magnificent cliffs and rock formations, vast wildflower fields, numerous meandering creeks and thriving wildlife. Whether you’re seeking a calming walk, a challenging hike, or a fun mountain bike ride, the extensive trail system provides recreation for everyone. And in the winter, the trails are great for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and alpine touring. We connect directly into additional trails on state land and the Hardy Mountain biking trails via our Perkins Road gate.

Come Explore

  • All trails are open to the community every Friday at sunrise to every Sunday at Sunset for FREE. Lodge Guests and Preserve Members have access 24/7.

  • All guests must sign the trail rules & waiver (via the button below) prior to accessing the trails. Parents/Guardians of minors under age 18 can provide their name(s) and sign on their behalf. Use the map below to plan your visit. When you arrive, please complete the trail register inside the lodge foyer. From there, follow the sign posts around the lodge to the main trailhead (green trail) just past the pond A-frame and dock.

  • Before your excursion, grab a bit and map at our Outpost Cafe (Friday through Sunday 7am-11am) OR after exploring, unwind at Summit & Spice, our restaurant and craft bar (Wednesday through Sunday 5-9pm)

  • We are granting access to the community at no cost but your volunteer time & donations are welcome to continuously improve the quality of the trails, including future camping & picnicking areas. To volunteer, please email lodge.newvida@gmail.com.
