Cook
We are seeking a part-time or full-time cook to be part of our culinary team at NewVida Preserve. During the peak season, our restaurant is open 5 nights / week (Wednesday through Sunday), profitable and growing, and serves one of the most diverse and globally inspired menus in the Adirondacks. We have an incredible new Executive Chef, Vicky Breyette, and talented FOH and Bar managers. You'd be joining a team that is passionate, creative, collaborative and calm under pressure. Though we will provide training and mentorship on the job, some experience working as a prep cook, line cook or station chef in a fast-paced restaurant setting is required. We're looking for a candidate that is committed to their work, and inspired to be part of a growing business. You must be able to consistently work a minimum of 20 hrs per week.
Responsibilities include:
Food prep
Cooking and plating dishes
Maintaining a clean and compliant kitchen
We are seeking experienced groundskeepers / maintenance workers to be part of a dynamic and talented team. Known formerly as Paleface, our grounds include a historic lodge, a mountain house, several outbuildings and 2000 acres of incredible mountain countryside. Experience working as part of a groundskeeping/maintenance team in a hotel/hospitality business is strongly preferred. Though we do provide training onsite, some experience using equipment (tractors, plow trucks, mowers, chainsaws) strongly preferred. Experience in any of the trades (electric, plumbing, heating/cooling, carpentry) is a huge plus. The job is full-time, ~40 hrs per week, Monday through Friday, 8-4pm.
Responsibilities include:
Basic repairs in guest areas
Mowing and trail maintenance
General systems maintenance
Qualifications:
Working experience in a groundskeeping/ maintenance role
Experience handling common groundskeeping equipment
Familiarity with carpentry and any trade skills a huge plus
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
