Spirit of Spring: Springtime Plants and Practices
Learn about common plants popping up now in local forests, fields & gardens & how to weave them into our diets & medicine chest. We'll walk the land & see what plants we can find. We'll take a deep dive into some plants, their constituents, how they interact with our body & some of the historical uses & lore of the plants of spring. We'll examine & taste freshly harvested plants. Come gather with other plant people to learn, have herbal tea & wild greens pesto too!
Yoga and Forest Therapy
Join yoga instructor & Nature & Forest Therapy Guide-in-Training, Brooks Fraser, for a donation-based community offering. We'll start with a 45-minute all-level yoga class in the studio. Then we will spend time with the More-Than-Human World and observe the season start to unfold (Rain or shine - please plan accordingly.) Gather with like-minded beings for a unique experience in nature on our historic Adirondack property.
Introduction to Qi Gong
"Qi" is life force. "Gong" is the practice. QI Gong is a traditional form of mindful movement & meditation. Its roots stem back 5,000 years in China and was used for vitality & healing. Qi Gong reboots the mind, body & spirit connection. It is easy and enjoyable. It doesn't require physical strength or flexibility and is great for any age.

Mindfulness writer and author, Debby Havas, will share from her personal journey of healing through journaling her experiences with the energies present in Mother Nature. In addition to hearing about Debby's journey, she will speak on the healing tool of journaling, which became the basic resource for her memoir. She'll discuss what it is, why it is important, and how to notice and weave Mother Nature's cues into your writing.
